Many people assume they aren’t eligible for overtime because they are paid a salary, but that may not be correct under the law. Williams Dirks Dameron fights for overtime pay to salaried employees in numerous industries including:
computer technology
banking
finance
healthcare, and
insurance.
In fact, the Department of Labor recently introduced a new regulation raising the salary threshold for overtime eligibility to $46,476 per year ($913/week). The new rule ensures that most salaried employees earning up to this threshold will be entitled to time-and-a-half overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours during a work week. The final rule will become effective December 1, 2016.
